According to Emily Post, a table setting isn’t as difficult as it seems. And, it shouldn’t be. In my opinion, a table setting should be a  pretty place to sit in great company and eat something delish. Yes, a formal dinner table should and must be properly arranged, you know, the fork on the left, the knife on the right, etc. But, an informal meal with friends should just be a lovely and comfortable place setting. A pretty place to chat, enjoy good company and eat to your heart’s delight.

Kate of Freebird Photography and her friends at Sage Market + Design shared their comfortable and oh so beautiful Spring table. Using the basics that include lovely plates, utensils, napkins, etc. they created slightly different looks by just changing the centerpieces. Succulents in a large white terrarium give the table an earthy organic look. Tulips in a clear vase give it a Spring feel and the dry lavender in a gold-rimmed white vase has a more rustic chic vibe. We love all the little and inviting variations.

From Kate: As a born and raised New Englander, who loves the sunshine and warm weather, you better believe that by early March, my seasonal clock is already screaming spring. When my entrepreneurial spirit sister Jordan from Sage Market + Design asked if I wanted to collaborate on a spring-inspired shoot, I jumped at the chance.

To arrange, plug and play with pretty things while channeling fresh spring air, flowers, and high temps? It’s projects like this that make photographer’s giddy. We focused on table setting options for Easter and Al Fresca dining. We used soft and airy colors on a bright white background to exude purity and simplicity. We fussed with different options for greenery and accents, eventually landing on a few winning options. The cool thing about this shoot and more specifically these table setting ideas? Anyone can do it. You don’t need deep pockets to make it happen; you just need to have a vision and a little bit of style.
